Bad day...

Today was not a good day.

I've been waiting for an email for months and it was supposed to arrive today...it didn't.

I found out I can't go to a concert I already bought tickets for months ago.

I bought a piece of jewelry online and it never arrived and nobody is answering my emails (but they've already taken my money).

My throat is sore because I've been coughing so much.

I got a horribly depressing email from school about a student and my heart breaks for the student's family.

And I just basically been in a saddened mood today. I hope tomorrow gets better. It's only now that I've had a little while to process things that I'm actually starting to feel my mood lighten a little.

  1. Hello! I don't know you ... and you don't know me ... but I was looking for other people who had read "The Wee Free Men" and found your blog. I'm really sorry that you had a depressing day today....

Anyways, I'm a writer too! In fact, I have a writing club and everything. What sort of things do you write? Do you like it when random strangers post on your blog, or does it freak you out? Do you wish I'd just go away? I guess I'll leave you alone, in case these are your sentiments, but if they're not, respond, and then I'll pester you some more! Yay!

  2. Hello Kat!e,
I love random comments on my blogs - in fact, I encourage them.
The Wee Free Men is a great book, it cracks me up.

Awesome, writers are such cool people. I write whatever pops into my head. I'd like to be a Young Adult novelist. I like poetry and blogging and I've also done Nanowrimo several times.

Feel free to pester away! If you have a blog I'd love to check it out. I started this blog in an attempt to write more regularly or just get in the habit of jotting my thoughts down....we'll see how it works out.

  3. My blog is www.donteatthecat.blogspot.com. The name of it comes from staying up with a fellow-writer friend of mine until three in the morning... Writers are naturally crazy. Writers in groups are even crazier. And writers in groups at strange hours of the night are frighteningly crazy.

I've been interested in doing Nanowrimo, but I only recently found out about it. How does one get into it, and what are the criteria? Right now I'm writing for a writing contest -- no more than 5,000 words, in the fantasy genre, has to be finished by March 1. If you're interested, I'll send you more details.

By the way, my blog is just what I work on when I have writer's block and I'm really sleep deprived... don't expect any brilliance. Just warning you.

  4. I totally agree with the sentiments that writer's are naturally crazy. I know many a crazy writer friend.

Nanowrimo is really easy. All you do is sign up in October (or early November) and you create a profile and start writing on your own. You can update your wordcount on their website as well and do other distracting and fun things. At the end of the month you can validate your wordcount and be proclaimed a Winner and get cool stuff and boasting rights. But if you want more information just check out the website, it's cool.

I'll be sure and check out your blog.

  5. This is Kat!e, by the way.

I am SOOO excited for NaNoWriMo! I found out more about it at the writing convention I went to, and I got really psyched!

Writers are crazy, that's what makes us FUN! Yay!

Umm... I started a new blog (long story). It's www.thehotgirlinthecomicshop.blogspot.com.

  6. I don't know you, but I'm at Kat!e's house, and I thought that I would randomly comment on your blog because I'm cool like that. This is probably going to be pointless and boring, and you don't have to keep reading if it becomes tedious.

Um... yeah. I like pie. Do you like pie? Kat!e doesn't like pie. I forgive her though, because she is awesome.

I also am a writer, although... HEY LOOK, A SQUIRREL!

Kay, I'm going to be done now, because I can't type with her keyboard.

  7. Nanowrimo is pretty much great. I'm going to try and do it this year....but if I am completely bogged down with school I might have to pass.

I'm sorry to say, but I am not the biggest pie fan...I kind of enjoy chocolate pie, but it depends on my mood.
